Mr. Chaiyabhat’s 20-year career has spanned public, private, and non-profit organizations. He has created, managed, and advised security, workplace violence, and crisis management programs in various industries and risk cultures including Fortune 500 companies, Aerospace/Defense contractor, US Government and Intelligence agencies, K-12 and higher education institutions, highly secured crisis operation centers, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and small to large campus environments. His government security roles include service as an FBI Security Specialist (Protective Intelligence) and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator with unique FBI crisis management, national security, and classified Continuity of Government partnerships, including the White House Military Office, Department of Homeland Security (DHS)/Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Central Intelligence Agency, and US National Counterterrorism Center. He has designed, facilitated and evaluated large multiday national security, crisis/emergency management, homeland security, threat intelligence analysis and protective security operations functional and full-scale exercises for federal, state, local and private sector organizations, with some exercises involving participants from the highest levels of the U.S. federal government.
In addition to his crisis management roles, Mr. Chaiyabhat also served as FBI’s Protective Intelligence Threat Assessment Program Manager. In this capacity, he partnered with the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit, US Intelligence Community, and international law enforcement agencies regarding assessments of threats to the US Attorney General, FBI Director Mueller, and their respective Deputies and multiple family members. He has also created and managed workplace violence behavioral threat assessment and management programs in four highly diverse private organizations throughout this career and remains an active member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP).
His private sector experiences include serving in Vice President, Director, and Manager positions with Raytheon Missile Systems, Washington National Cathedral, Georgetown University, and FM Global. Mr. Chaiyabhat began his career with the leading global consulting firm Booz|Allen|Hamilton providing safety, security and emergency management consultation and advisory services to federal government clients. Mr. Chaiyabhat has created, managed, implemented and evaluated programs in the areas of crisis/emergency management, preparedness planning, security risk assessments, physical security operations and technology systems, workplace violence prevention, travel security, business continuity and continuity of operations planning. His various consulting roles have afforded him the opportunity to advise over 20 clients representing federal and state government agencies, private sector companies, and higher education institutions. In addition to his early career consulting roles, he has more recently served in consulting and senior advisor positions with Science Applications International Corporation’s (SAIC) National Security Group and Eagle Security Group in Washington, DC. Mr. Chaiyabhat currently serves as the Staff Vice President, Physical Security and Crisis Manager for FM Global, a leading commercial property insurer (Fortune #512, 2018) that generates over $5 billion in annual revenue and maintains over 60 offices and 5,000 staff worldwide.
Mr. Chaiyabhat has been recognized by DHS/FEMA, American Society for Industrial Security International, Security 500, International Association of Emergency Managers, Campus Safety Magazine, and Security Director News. Additionally, he has been named America’s “Top 20 Under 40” by Security Director News, “Security Professional of the Year” by the ASIS Phoenix Chapter, and “Security 500” list of global security leaders by Security Magazine. Mr. Chaiyabhat holds multiple academic degrees and professional certifications in the areas of risk management, safety, security, intelligence analysis, homeland security, business continuity and crisis/emergency management.
